After a crazy week of endless typing and very little sleep, I’m pleased to announce that the first draft of my debut novel is FINALLY FINISHED!
All 80,005 words and 36 chapters (plus epilogue) have been concluded in a small apartment in Bangkok, which I haven’t left except to run to the 7Eleven for water. How’s that for dedication?
It’s been a long few months, but it would seem that the endless sunshine, fantastic people and amazing Asian food were exactly what was needed to finally fulfil this lifelong ambition.
I now plan to take a month off from writing to enjoy the rest of my trip (starting with a visit to the cinema to see my favourite book, Life of Pi by Yann Martel, on the big screen in all its 3D glory) and I’ll be back in the UK in a little over a month.
